12 fun activities for any child to do with their Mom:
Mani and Pedi
Who doesn’t like a good manicure and pedicure? Take your home out for a day full of relaxation and fun, while pampering the woman you love most. She will cherish it for days to come.
Brush her hair
Remember when you were little and your Mom used to brush and braid your hair? Return the favor by taking the time to do your Mom’s hair and let her do yours.
Take a walk
Whether your Mom can walk or needs to be pushed in a wheelchair schedule a time to go for a walk around the facility or a nearby park. Getting outside and soaking in the Vitamin D from the sun is good for the soul.
Share photos of family
Your Mom might miss more family activities than she would with her new lifestyle. Next time you go for a visit be sure to bring family photos, share videos from your phone, or bring in school work to show your Mom what your children have been up to.
Make her favorite food
What’s your Mom’s favorite food? Either pick it up at the grocery store or make it for her. Doing so will remind her that you still remember the little things that she used to do for you when you lived at home.
Take her shopping
Have a girls day! Ask your Mom what day she would like to go shopping and take her to her favorite store. This way she can pick out a new outfit and have a little fun.
Grab lunch
Take your Mom to her favorite restaurant. That way she can order her favorite food and you can catch up on life.
Take her to get her hair done
Does your Mom miss getting her hair done every week? Surprise her and schedule an appointment at her old salon. She will love it, promise.
Go to a movie
Check out your local theater and find a movie you’d both like to see. Don’t forget the popcorn.
Listen to her favorite music
Music is great therapy. Bring your Mom’s favorite records to listen to or have a dance party.
Help her decorate her room for each season
Does your Mom need a little help with her decor? Buy some cheap decorations at the dollar store and help decorate her room for each holiday and season.
Bring an animal
Is your Mom an animal lover? Check with her assisted living center and see if it’s okay to bring in your family pet.
