How to spread joy in a time of crisis
During hard times it can be difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel. That’s why it’s important to find ways to spread joy especially when you are cooped up at home without anywhere to go.
4 ways to spread joy during a time of crisis
- Send a card
- Send or deliver a care package
- Smile
- Pay for the person behind you
Send a card
Did you know that sending a simple card to someone you love can change the whole course of their day? It’s true. Sending cards seems to be a lost art with all the technology we have at our fingertips. That’s why sending a card with a special message attached can brighten someone’s day. You can stop at the dollar store to pick up some less expensive card stock or check out an online service that sends cards for you.
Send or deliver a care package
If you really want to surprise someone consider sending a care package with all of their favorite things. When your loved one is unable to get out or they may not have the funds coming in like they used to, a care package may be just what they need. Pack it full with their favorite candy, card games, etc. and don’t forget to write a special note.
Smile
As simple as it sounds, a smile can really brighten someone’s day. When someone smiles at you it’s hard not to smile right back. Consider smiling at the workers when you are at the grocery store or when you see a stranger. You never know who needs a smile!
Pay for the person behind you
Have you heard of the ‘pay-it-forward’ movement? Paying for the person behind you at the drive-thru or at the grocery store? Kindness spreads and it spreads fast. Being kind is the best thing you can be and in rough times it can be just the light in someone’s dark world. Just the simplest things in life can make a world of difference.
